A few common questions
From your first race day to the Swim Central checkout.
Need a hand? Get in touchDo I need to be a strong swimmer to join?
You just need to be able to swim 25 metres without stopping. You don’t need to know racing dives or turns. Our Monday training sessions and Sunday social swims are open to all abilities, and our members are always happy to help newcomers settle in.
Can kids join the Club?
Yes! There is no minimum age, but every member — regardless of age — must be able to swim 25 metres without stopping. Children under 10 must have a parent or guardian present at all swimming activities.
How much does membership cost?
Come & Try is free for eligible new swimmers. For paid membership options and current fees, visit our membership pricing page. Pool entry at Parramatta Aquatic Centre is a separate fee paid on arrival.
Why does the free trial ask for my card details?
Swim Central requires card details for a first-time purchase, even when the product costs $0, to validate identity and help prevent fraud. Check that you have selected “Come and Try – Free” and that its price is $0.00. Your trial does not automatically become a paid membership. See Swim Central’s checkout guide, or ask us for help.
Does membership include pool entry?
No. Club membership and pool entry are separate. You’ll need to pay the standard entry fee at Parramatta Aquatic Centre each time you visit. Check the Parramatta Aquatic Centre website for current pricing.
I’ve signed up — what do I do next?
Once your membership is confirmed, come to the Outdoor Memorial Pool at Parramatta Aquatic Centre at the scheduled session time and introduce yourself to a Club volunteer. Bring your swimmers, goggles and a towel, and allow time to pay for pool entry. For Saturday racing, you need to enter your races online beforehand. If you are unsure which session to attend or need help with race entry, get in touch before your first visit.
Do you offer learn-to-swim lessons?
No. Our Club focuses on racing, training and social swimming. Learn-to-swim programs are run directly by Parramatta Aquatic Centre.
What if I’ve never raced before?
Our Saturday race mornings are a big part of Club life, and we encourage every member to have a go. You do not need racing experience — it is a chance to challenge yourself, work towards personal bests and get to know other members. Our volunteers can help you choose suitable events and explain what to do on your first race day. Monday training and Sunday social swims are great ways to build confidence along the way.
What happens after my 60-day trial?
You can choose a paid membership to keep swimming with the Club, or let your trial finish with no further commitment. It does not automatically renew as a paid membership. When you are ready, view our membership options and fees, or ask us for help choosing the right one.
Questions or help joining?
Leave your details and a Club volunteer will get back to you. Whether you have a question or just want a hand getting started, we would love to hear from you.
